Sr. Bilingual Employment Specialist
Mirna Payan joined VocMedEcon in 2008 as a Sr. Bilingual Employment Specialist. She brings to us nine years experience specializing in conducting extensive labor market research and surveys, assessment, evaluation, and 15 years of experience in job placement services. Most recently, Mirna has conducted labor market research in Lima, Peru. Mirna is bilingual and serves as a Spanish/English interpreter/translator. She provides these services in a variety of settings such as Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) appointments, communication with attorneys, and doctor visits. Mirna handles the cases involving Spanish-speaking clients in our office.
Ms. Payan has received designations in the following: Certified Case Management Professional (CCMP), Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM) and Worker Compensation Professional (WCCP). She also completed the Spanish Bilingual Medical Interpreting Assistant program (SBA).
Mirna is an active member of AWCCA organization and member of the IARP organization. Since 2007, Mirna has been actively involved with the ASU Center for Community Development & Civil Rights serving as a volunteer facilitator for the American Dream Academy. While serving at the American Dream Academy, she has devoted her time to transforming many lives by helping parents and children gain the tools and confidence necessary to prepare for successful academic futures. She also volunteers as an interpreter in many school/parent meetings.
Mirna is originally from El Paso, TX, and has enjoyed living in Arizona with her family since 1997. She has one daughter; her daughter is a full time student at ASU.
